“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
Our tagline for 2017-2020 is MEGA BEA 2020. MEGA stands for Ministry Excelling and Goal Achieving, reminiscent of the 2013-2016 Vision Statement – MEGA Faith, MEGA Church, MEGA BEA. Our 2017-2020 Vision Statement is “Moving UMC Mission within Global Reach,” a declaration of support to the UMC Quadrennial theme: “Therefore Go.”
Therefore Go NOW (Nurture, Outreach, Witness)
UMC Mission Nurtures – We mentor disciples and equip leaders. (Matthew 28:16-20)
UMC Mission Reaches Out – We serve beyond the four walls of the church (Acts 1:8)
UMC Mission Witnesses – We proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11-14)
The United Methodist Church is in Mission to fill the world with joy, peace, hope, and love by the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is important for the BEA Cabinet to meet and determine what FLAGSHIP Ministries the Districts would like to engage in. Each District Superintendent and District have their own dreams that they want to turn into realities, their legacies to the next generation
The Districts and Annual Conferences will also determine their strategic objectives (performance targets) in order to contribute toward a 100% performance in all BEA FLAGSHIP Ministries. This will give all connectional levels a sense of ownership once these are approved in the 2020 Annual Conference Sessions.
The Baguio Episcopal Area remains committed to the global family of The United Methodist Church. Our BEA FLAGSHIP Ministries anchored on the Four Areas of Focus celebrate the S.E.E.D Ministries that God has entrusted to us in our beloved Church.
The S.E.E.D Ministries as the BEA paradigm in understanding the Four Areas of Focus take their inspiration from the explanation of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Parable of the Sower. He said, “The SEED is the word of God… As for those in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience” (Luke 8:11 – 15, ESV). Thus, we have:
S – Strengthening UMC congregations and establishing new communities of faith
E – Empowering Churches and communities for abundant health
E – Engaging in ministries with the poor and human rights victims and in programs to protect the environment
D – Disciple – making for principled Christian leaders.
